How safe are your horses?
In the state of Colorado, horseback riding is considered to be an inherently
dangerous activity. Horses, being a prey animal, have a natural instinct to flee
when threatened. Having said this, we ALWAYS take every precaution to be as
safe as possible. We match the rider to the most appropriate horse, and take
every safety precaution. If this is a serious concern, references are always
available.

|
|
Do we have to buy a helmet?
Wearing helmets for any riding at the stable is MANDATORY- no exceptions. We
do have a supply of helmets that are SEI/FEI certified. As supply permits we are
happy to loan you a helmet for your lessons. At some point in your riding pursuits
you may wish to purchase one of your own.

|
|
What type of equipment to we need to bring?
We do not ask that you make big purchases before your first lessons, but we do
suggest these common sense choices:
Boots or a sturdy shoe - Crocs are NOT permitted on grounds.
Jeans or a riding pant. Sunglasses, and sunscreen- even in the winter months!
|
|
|
How old do you have to be to take a lesson?
All students MUST be at least 7 years old, or older. There is no limit for how old
a rider can be.

| Camp |
|
|
What do I need to send my camper with each day?
Campers are required to bring three large bottles of water, three snacks and a
sack lunch to camp each and every day. We do not provide these items. Parents
are urged to dress students in sturdy jeans or riding pants, a hat, and lots of
sunscreen. Riding boots are preferred, but a sturdy shoe is fine. Crocs, and flip
flops are not acceptable on the stable grounds.

What type of camp is best for my child?
Horse Camp is suitable for all riders, and we cater to all age groups, and do
make the specific needs or inherent abilities for each student part of our daily
curriculum. Riders of all abilities can enjoy and develop fabulous skills at Horse
Camp.
Leadership Camp is the first week of our summer camp season, and is
specifically created to teach and counsel our more experienced riders how to
assist us with the other camps. Campers that successfully complete this training
camp are eligible to volunteer their skills at the other camps we have during the
season, and to assist us at the numerous shows we attend. Non- students with
prior skills are welcome to attend.
Show Camp is designed to help riders improve specific skills so that they may
participate in the numerous shows we attend throughout the season, and be well
prepared for each venue. This is a boot camp type of environment intended for the
serious rider. Showing after this camp is not mandatory, and is intended to
develop a greater understanding of specific disciplines.
Baby-Green Jumping Camp is for the new jumper wanting to develop their
skills in this discipline. We focus on form, safety in jumping and technique to
develop a confident jumping rider with a great foundation.

| Showing |
|
|
Is showing required, or expected in your 'culture'?
We are excited to offer a low cost opportunity for riders who are interested in
showing, however ours is a non-competitive culture, and we wish all riders to
know that the opportunity to pursue showing is always available but never a
mainstream part of our culture. We make the information available, we have no
expectation for anyone who is not interested to participate. In our desire to foster
a non- competitive culture, we have decided to not sponsor shows at our facility in
the interest of maintaining a very community -oriented environment.
|
|
|
|
How much does it cost?
It depends. A student is required to provide their own riding outfit, pay for their
entry fees, pay for the show fees and costs of that specific event. We have an
excellent "gently used" network for show clothes and try to keep all costs as low
as possible.
